It will be called Fantastica. The owner of Swiss-Italian MSC Cruises sign this morning at Saint-Nazaire, in the presence of Nicolas Sarkozy, the command of a cruise ship in shipbuilding group STX France (formerly Chantiers de l'Atlantique). The ship, the twelfth of its fleet, will be delivered in May 2012 for an amount of 575 million euros.

"Very stable, will ship with our other two ships, MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida, the biggest and most luxurious cruise ship ever commissioned by a European ship owner to sail the Mediterranean, Le Figaro said Gianluigi Aponte, founding president of MSC Cruises it controls 100%. It will be a VIP class, with 99 staterooms, butler service and placeholders: lounge, restaurant, pool, spa and gym. "Feature 333.3 meters and a width of 38 meters maximum, Fantastica can reach speeds of 23.7 knots.Sailing from Marseilles, he will have 1751 cabins and can accommodate 4,000 passengers. This will increase by 10% the capacity of MSC Cruises, carrying 1.4 million passengers in 2013. Count from 750 to 2000 euros per week all inclusive, with a stopover day.

A letter of intent was signed in early March for this order, which required the support of the State. For STX France is a vital site. His yards idling. To avoid the worst, the government had to mobilize the French bank (Credit Agricole CIB BNP Paribas and Natixis), who were reluctant to grant the necessary funds (our edition of February 18). "The president has made sure that the site did not stop," says Gianluigi Aponte.MSC Cruises and enjoys the support of Coface, the French agency for export credit, which guarantees funding.

Another optional command ship

The owner will pay his command five times in twelve years. It will first check today, amounting to 115 million euros. First client of Chantiers de l'Atlantique, to whom he has already spent 10 orders, MSC Cruises claims the second place cruise in France and number four worldwide. His boss was pleased to have the most modern fleet in the world: if the oldest ship date of 1981, all others were built after 2002. The owner has already made "an option" to purchase STX for the next ship, a steamer of the same scale as the Fantastica. "We continue to invest, because the cruise is well. The industry has felt only slightly crisis, says Gianluigi Aponte. The Italians and the Koreans are eager to work with us. But I'm faithful to STX for over seven years. When I get on well with a supplier, I did not change for a few million euros! "

Last year, MSC Cruises has increased by about 30% of its turnover to 1.2 billion euros. Its net profit reached 60 million euros. "With an average price of 1200 euros or so, the cruise excellent value for money," says Gianluigi Aponte. It attracts more and more. "The younger clientele: the average age is now about forty years.

The regulation of the financial world would soon see the day. In the United States and Europe, urging the regulators not to adopt stricter rules and thus provide the means to avoid another financial crisis.

In Europe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Nicolas Sarkozy urged the European Commission to "accelerate its work" for an "enhanced supervision" of financial markets in a joint letter to José Manuel Barroso. Thus, Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy felt that "there is an urgent need for the Commission to expedite its work with regard to the enhanced framework of sovereign CDS market and short sales, and this before the July Ecofin all possible courses of action. "The Heads of State put forward "the return of high market volatility, which makes it legitimate to wonder about some specific financial techniques and the use of certain derivatives such as naked short selling and credit default swaps (CDS).

Financial reform expected U.S. June 26

Across the Atlantic, there is evidence that financial reform should come from next June 26. Indeed, Republican Barney Frank and Democrat Christopher Dodd, father of the original text on financial reform, agreed yesterday on a planning committee that would allow the Senate and House of Representatives to harmonize their versions. For now, both houses of Representatives have both passed a different version of the text. Elected officials from each chamber are now trying to work on a common version.Congress hopes to be ready for the G20 to be held on 26 and 27 June in Toronto and where regulation of the financial sector will be a central theme. The final text could be adopted just before the recess of parliament in early July. It will then be submitted to the U.S. president Barack Obama for enactment.

Adoption of a system of circuit breakers

Also in this effort to regulate the financial sphere, the system of "circuit breaker" required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could come into force next Monday. It provides for a suspension of trade in a way that would have fluctuated more than 10% in less than five minutes on the market. With this rule, the Constable of U.S. financial markets hoping to avoid the stock market panic like that of May 6.The SEC is considering extending these fuses, which concern the time being listed companies in the Standard & Poor's 500, over a thousand companies.

End of turbulence for the advertising of France Televisions? The group's board decided on Tuesday morning to suspend negotiations with the consortium formed by Publicis and Lov St?phane Courbit, confirmed by France Televisions in a statement.

Discussions were already sealed since Frederic Mitterrand has reported an "ethical problem" for potential buyers. Jean-Francois Cope said his contribution to the debate by expressing support for the maintenance of advertising day after 2011, the date fixed by law to decide the future of advertising on France Televisions. The decision of the board of directors is therefore in the direction of the leader of UMP.

This decision takes into account "the substantial uncertainty surrounding whether or not to advertise before 20h," the statement said the leadership of France Televisions, which states that the "exclusive negotiations in progress is intrinsically linked to the assumption of suppression of advertising before 20 hours on the antennae of the group. "

A result in ahead of schedule

The management team at France Televisions has another reason to rejoice. According to the Tribune on Tuesday, she managed to exit the group's public accounts in 2009, making him reap a profit of 19.6 million against a net loss of 78.4 million in 2008. The performance is surprising in light of the deficit of 135 million originally budgeted. All indicators are also green.Operating income also goes a loss of 101.2 million to a profit of 68.7 million is one year. A result that the State had not expected before 2011 pay day loan lenders.

Net revenue available group also rose to 2.497 billion against 2.263 billion a year earlier. This result is explained partly by an 8% increase in advertising revenues for 20 hours (405 million euros), and secondly, by a government grant of 405 million euros expected to offset the stop advertising after 20 hours in 2009 which resulted in a shortfall of 383 million euros to France Televisions.

The cost of programs increases

The results show an increase in expenses of 3.2% to 2.45 billion euros. Since the cessation of advertising, France Televisions was indeed invest heavily in its production. The group would also step up its commitments in the sector of cinema

These new standards imposed on manufacturers led to an increase of 4% of program costs to 1.94 billion euros. The savings from the reduction of staff (120 positions at least 10,350) are not sufficient to compensate. Hence the current plan of internal synergy.

Confusion surrounds the departure of Carolis

These results sow disorder while rumors of departure of Patrick de Carolis at the end of his term in August amplified since Saturday. Alexandre Bompard, 37 years and current CEO of Europe 1 appears to be the favorite to take the head of France Televisions. His appointment could even intervene Tuesday on the sidelines of the meeting of the board of directors of France Televisions or Wednesday in Council of Ministers. The information is currently denied by the Elysee.

Credit Suisse said Thursday that its chief executive Brady Dougan had received 19.2 million Swiss francs (13 million euros) in cash and stock for the year 2009, making it one of the leaders the more lucrative banking sector.

This high level of pay, despite the profits generated by the bank in 2009 and its recent efforts to make its system more transparent compensation, likely to raise criticism from shareholder activists and political parties in Switzerland, where the Parliament debate new wage rules including the introduction of a ceiling on salaries.

In detail, the head of the Swiss bank has received a base salary of 1.3 million Swiss francs and a bonus of 17.9 million.

Huge side of France

"Such compensation for the CEO of Credit Suisse seems huge in terms of what affect the patterns of French banks," says Cyril Bellanger, at Proxinvest. At Societe Generale, Frederic Oud?a received 1.11 million euros of fixed and variable."He had no options or free shares," says analyst research firm specializing in executive compensation.

At BNP Paribas, Baudouin Prot has received 950,000 euros of fixed and 1.4 million bonus. The bank emerged in 2009 a net profit of 5.8 billion euros (+93%), third in the ranking of the best banking performance in 2009, after Barclays and Santander.

Other DGs have refused their bonuses

In Britain, the CEO of Barclays John Varley declined – as in 2008 – to receive his bonus for Payday Loan Bad Credit . The British bank posted a profit doubled to 10.4 billion pounds over the past year, crushing all its European competitors. The institution intends to distribute 1.5 billion in cash bonuses.

Same attitude towards Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh: Stephen Hester has waived his bonus. The Scottish bank posted a net loss after minority interests of 3.6 billion pounds, about 4.1 billion euros, against a loss of 24.3 billion the previous year.

Back in Switzerland, the CEO of the first institution in Switzerland, UBS, Oswald Gr?bel has waived its variable pay and decided to reduce his base salary of 2 million Swiss francs to 850,000 francs (583,000 euros). It is the responsibility of the Investment Banking Division which was the better off for the year 2009 with a premium of 12.5 million Swiss francs, or 8.6 million.

In late January, in a context where wages are banking scandal in the United States and despite a profit of nearly $ 5 billion in the fourth quarter of 2009, Goldman Sachs has decided to limit the pay of the hundred top leaders based the United Kingdom, one million pounds (1.13 million euros).

Christine Lagarde is going to war against unfair bank charges. At the request of the Prime Minister, Fran?ois Fillon, Minister of Economy and Finance has commissioned a report to the former CEO of Credit Agricole, Georges Pauget, and chair of the Advisory Committee of the financial sector (CCSF), Emmanuel Constans. "Our goal is to protect consumers," she said into the microphone of RTL on Wednesday morning.

Bank charges: avoid abuse

The minister hopes to shed light on three issues in particular: the "cascade" of bank charges, billing services hitherto free, and finally, the establishment of systems of fixed costs "which include some services that consumers do not, "said Christine Lagarde. In an interview with the newspaper Les Echos on Wednesday, she said that instead "regulate all hair, she wants to ensure there is no abuse."I expect the report to the end of June," says she.

On 24 March, three days after the second round of regional elections, Christine Lagarde presented to the National Assembly a new position on the draft law on consumer credit: remove penalties release (charge made if a person makes one or more checks, Ed), "which are a real obstacle for small businesses.

Germany: Christine Lagarde persists and signs

The Minister is also back at RTL on her remarks Monday on the German economic model, stigmatizing the pressure on labor costs for its exports preferred payday loan lenders . "My remarks have been interpreted negatively. While Germany has performed well for ten years. But in such times of crisis, the deficit country must do everything to reduce it, and those of surplus should not be assumed that they are the only engines of growth, "she says.

Less than a week after the lunch meeting between Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy in London, Christine Lagarde expressed disappointment at the postponement of the adoption of the Directive on hedge funds, and remains "determined that the text completion by late June.

The subject, which should be discussed Tuesday by the Finance Ministers of the Twenty-Seven, was withdrawn from the brink of the agenda by the Spanish Presidency, who chose not to vote on a text in this highly unpleasant state in the United Kingdom.Christine Lagarde will therefore not stop there, and push to revive the issue with determination, even displease its European counterparts.

In San Francisco the night of Wednesday to Thursday, Sony has provided details on its controller wireless control for its home console PlayStation 3 (PS3), at a conference for designers of video games. Using this kind of remote topped by a white sphere that changes color depending on the phases of the game, the Tokyo group hopes to outdo the Wii from Nintendo. It is possible to reproduce on-screen hand movements and body of the player. "Our controller PlayStation Move Motion Controller, with a camera placed above the screen and game will be sold at least $ 100 in the fall," says one Sony in France, without specifying the European price.

With its controller "Wii Remote" Satoru Iwata, CEO of Nintendo, has attracted a new audience of young women and people reluctant to play. The controller of the Wii helped make it easy to use video games. A little more than three years after its launch, the figures speak for themselves: the console, Nintendo has sold nearly 70 million units worldwide, as many as the combined sales of PlayStation 3 added to those of Xbox 360 Microsoft.

For nearly a year, Sony and Microsoft are developing projects to retort to the Wii, the graphics less advanced.

From June 2, 2009, Sony announced its response. "Our power controller is more precise than all other existing systems, which is essential for games in high definition. For the master controller has an accelerometer and a gyroscope. Depth is also determined with precision, with the camera placed above the screen, then told the Figaro, Kaz Hirai, head of the gaming division of Sony.At that time, the firm Nippon would propose his joystick in the spring. It took a little longer, especially to incorporate the side of the camera (which recalls his playing "Eye Toy" for PS2) a sound recording instant payday loans . "Experiments in Augmented Reality" are thus promised to the players for PS3. Thirty-six studios and game publishers, including Activision, Disney, Sega, THQ, Ubisoft and Warner, will offer programs for this controller. The studios Sony, meanwhile, will launch 20 games by 31 March 2011.

The offensive of Sony, with the supplement to "augmented reality", is decisive in the fight which is tied with Microsoft. For the holiday season to season, which begins in November in the U.S., the Xbox 360 is expected to enrich the "project Natal.Microsoft wants to happen and joystick control games and propose a system composed of an infrared camera and a system of speech recognition. "The joystick is you," stated Don Mattrick, head of the gaming division of Microsoft, with last year's project to mark the spirits. In June, in Los Angeles in the next world fair of video games, the software giant must provide details on price, launch date and games for the Natal project.

Revenge of the 3D

However, Sony will release a new card to boost sales of PS3: 3D. Indeed, its console will be enriched in the second half, two programs for relief – which may be retrieved on the Internet for holders of current consoles."Thanks to the reader on Blu-ray built into the PS3, the console will offer games in relief, then a second software enables you to watch movies in 3D," said a spokesman for Sony in France. It is an advantage, including the Xbox 360. Because Microsoft has bet on HD-DVD finally abandoned, for its home console that incorporates a simple DVD player. The PS3 might as well take his revenge and become, according to Strategy Analytics, in the end, the next-generation console's best selling world.

Vaccine orders: discussions continue

The discussions are difficult. "Novartis believes that vaccines already made must be delivered," said Andrin Oswald, head of vaccines and diagnostics division. This represents almost two thirds of cancellations desired by France. The balance of the assignment not met, it "must be replaced by a provision" would like the Swiss laboratory.

The supervisory board of French nuclear group Areva, which had sold its subsidiary T & D in early summer, has finally opted for the duo consisting of Alstom and Schneider Electric. The offer of the two French partners has been preferred to the group nippon Toshiba and the U.S. conglomerate General Electric. This sale, representing 4.090 billion euros, will be an opportunity for the duo buyers to separate the activities of T & D, Alstom recovering the Transmission, representing two thirds of the business of Areva T & D, and Schneider getting the p?leDistribution or the remaining third.

A decision criticized by the very leaders of Areva T & D

The proposal that was adopted was harshly criticized last week by leaders of Areva, who fear the social consequences of such an operation would generate such choix.Une "inevitably a period of uncertainty and disruption" and would "impact social "warned leaders of 41 Areva T & D through a letter addressed to Anne Lauvergeon, the president of the group. The main fear of the unions, meanwhile, concerns the industrial sites of T & D that could make duplicate sites with Schneider Electric, forcing it to make layoffs. Both French have repeatedly pledged not to make any site closures or redundancies resulting from the assignment for at least three years after the release of Areva.

Toshiba plans to open a dispute

In a statement issued Monday evening, the Ministry of Economy welcomed a procedure described as "open and transparent" who "has to have three firm offers very high quality." The offer of two French is "appeared the best bid" under the "respect for proprietary interests of Areva" and "development of the industrial and employment," the statement said.

But already, the Japanese group Toshiba is ready to react and could quickly open a dispute for a decision "as it considers unfair" according to the daily Les Echos.

The sale procedure of Areva T & D would not have been fair and raises "questions" in terms of legality, has openly declared Tuesday a professor of public law Guy Carcassonne, which advises Toshiba. "The impression it gives is that the dice were loaded," he said. "It offers a significantly lower prevailed. This suggests that there is a criterion that was applied and which was not originally planned. "Perhaps this is the nationality?" Questioned the lawyer.

At General Electric, it is more reserved, expressing "disappointment" that its offer was not accepted for return Areva T & D."Although disappointed by the outcome of the process, the company will continue to invest in the long term, to develop its technology and foster its growth in the business of transmission and distribution," the company said in a statement. The offer from General Electric was "robust and competitive" and would "preserve the plants, expertise and leadership Areva T & D was built in France," he argues.

Areva had received November 9 three proposals to purchase farms for its subsidiary T & D. This should enable the group chaired by Anne Lauvergeon to fund expensive development projects on his heart craft that represents the nuclear industry. This subsidiary provides systems and services for the transmission and distribution of electricity, employs 31,000 people and accounted for so far 40% of group sales Areva.
